Three-Day-Weekender Edition: SOME Fest, Porchfest, HenryFest ... you get the idea
HIGHLIGHT
Apparently it’s Festival Weekend here in Maine, with HenryFest happening Saturday in North Yarmouth, Porchfest on Sunday in Deering Center, and the Portland Maine Comedy Festival continuing too. But don’t sleep on SOME Fest down at The Dance Hall in Kittery (7 Walker St.). Billed as a “family-friendly celebration of creativity, the arts, and community,” it features an eclectic lineup of great local and regional acts, like Dead Gowns, Hello Shark, Megan From Work, Deer Isle, and Connecticut rockers Ovlov, plus a multimedia arts market and pop-up gallery, and stuff to keep kids entertained while you watch the bands. Full- and half-day tickets ($15-$25) are available for this event, which happens from noon to 10 p.m. Schedule at thedancehallkittery.org.
