The Bollard Bulletin: July 4, 2024
Independence Day Edition: Still Got No Love for Kings
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED
It’s tough to find reasons to celebrate this Independence Day, with two semi-sentient skin bags vying for the presidency, one backing a genocide and the other promising Civil War II. But here at The Bollard Bulletin we always look on the bright side, directly into the sun if necessary! So here’s a few reasons for ya…
The Casco Bay Wind Symphony has stepped up this year to play on Portland’s Eastern Promenade for the fireworks party. The non-profit, volunteer symphony comprised of about 70 musicians ages 19 to 93 is accepting donations via their website. This is a vast improvement over past July Fourth events there, when the city was too broke to hire its own symphony orchestra and turned to a for-profit events promoter who roped off parts of the Prom for paying patriots and kept blaring inducements to gamble on raffles to help pay for the extra cops and port-a-potties and trash barrels.
Chet, the master butcher at Fresh Approach on Portland’s West End, is making a brand new, cheddar-stuffed Italian sausage for your grilling enjoyment today!
The next American Revolution against our wigged-out oppressors has already begun! The mask is off, the emperor’s ass is showing, “no one wants to work anymore” and weed is legal (under certain circumstances)! This time, we, the people, are gonna win!
We just posted our June 2024 print edition on thebollard.com, for free! A dump, a Viking, a pet seagull … it’s all there for you, and more.
