Rap legend Rakim takes the mic tonight at Oxbow Brewing & Bottling (49 Washington Ave., Portland), with the funky Ryan Zoidis Trio and DJ Myth opening at 8:30 p.m. Tix: $50 (21+).
Modern jazz titans Kahil El’Zabar and David Murray have been exploring the genre’s furthest corners for over 40 years. Their gig at SPACE (538 Congress St., Portland) sold out in short order, so they’ve added a late show at 9 p.m. Tix: $35 (all ages).
The Portland Museum of Art (7 Congress Square.) is holding a free open house today to commemorate Juneteenth, with screenings of the James Earl Jones romance The Annihilation of Fish, live music by Kafari (at 3 p.m.) and much more from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
