Highlights
Looks like it’ll be a beautiful evening for some jam rock and funk out on Portland’s Thompson’s Point, where The String Cheese Incident headlines a show with the funky sextet Lettuce, featuring Maine sax sensation Ryan Zoidis, at 7 p.m. Tix: $70.50 (all ages).
The Boston “dream rock” band Paper Lady gets surreal at SPACE (538 Congress St., Portland) with local “amphibian” indie four-piece Red Eft opening along with Portland’s Beach Broads, a group for people who “like pretty girls, horror movies and rock and roll,” at 8 p.m. Tix: $15 (all ages).
Brook Pridemore, according to their bio, “plays punk music and folk music at the same time. Sometimes they bang on the guitar like it was a drum, and sometimes they jump up and down, cussing like a five year old who just learned how to say ‘Fuck.’” Sound fun? Then catch Brook’s set at Novel (643 Congress St., Portland) at 7 p.m. Tix: $10 (all ages).
There’s a big, bold and beautiful Drag Show at Geno’s (625 Congress St., Portland) to celebrate the launch of Pride Month festivities, hosted by Danielle Dior and featuring Gigi Gabor. Ophelia Johnson, Arabella Ladessé and Tasha Tektite at 8:30 p.m. Tix: $15 (21+).
