The Bollard Bulletin for January 24-26
Dance, poetry and music, presented separately and in various intriguing combinations
Highlight
Co-directed by poet Arisa White and choreographer Laurel Jenkins, Willow’s Apothecary melds poetry with dance (by The Dance Company of Middlebury College) and live electronic music by McLean Macionis and cellist Robin Lane to explore the mythological realm White created in Post Pardon: The Opera, a work described as a “transgenerational apology needed to repair a Black woman’s soul.” The performance takes place this Saturday at Mechanics’ Hall (519 Congress St., Portland) at 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $20. 773-8396. mechanicshallmaine.org.
